Accounting Assistant

 

Location: Bend, Oregon
Pay: $28-$30 DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-time

 

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable:
  • Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Monitor customer accounts and track incoming payments
  • Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Follow up on past-due accounts and assist with collections efforts
  • Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and communications
  • Prepare AR aging reports and assist with cash flow tracking
• Accounts Payable:
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment
  • Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3-way matching)
  • Schedule and process payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation (W-9s, etc.)
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve billing issues
  • Reconcile vendor statements and identify discrepancies
• Assist with month-end closing (AR/AP reconciliations, journal entries)
• Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Support audits by providing required documentation

 

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in AR/AP or general accounting
• Familiarity with accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus)

• Problem-solving skills for resolving discrepancies and payment issues
• High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
