Salary: $21.00 – $24.00 DOE

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Retail Store Lead to help create an exceptional customer experience while supporting the daily operations of a retail store in Crescent City, CA. This role leads retail team members, ensures smooth store operations, manages inventory and customer orders, and upholds our commitment to quality products and service.

What You’ll Do

Retail Operations & Leadership

• Lead, coach, and support retail store team members, including scheduling and training
• Delegate daily tasks and ensure productivity and service expectations are met
• Collaborate with production and support teams to coordinate store needs

Customer Service & Sales

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to in-store customers
• Offer product recommendations, samples, and information about creamery products
• Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Manage and fulfill customer orders received via phone, email, website, and donation requests

Inventory & Order Management

• Monitor and replenish retail inventory and maintain proper stock rotation
• Place supply orders and coordinate with vendors to maintain appropriate stock levels
• Receive and stock deliveries and prepare custom shipments for customers

Store Systems & Compliance

• Enter and maintain accurate data in POS, ERP, and shipping systems
• Update pricing as needed and maintain accurate product records
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and support till management
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards

Operational Support

• Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reporting
• Cut, weigh, wrap, and label cheese products while maintaining food safety standards
• Prepare product sample trays and maintain attractive displays
• Clean and sanitize retail counters, equipment, and display areas

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of retail, customer service, or food handling experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to accurately handle transactions and operate POS systems
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or training team members
• Experience in specialty food, grocery, or manufacturing retail environments
• Familiarity with ERP systems or inventory management

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift and move items up to 40 pounds
• Occasional exposure to cold environments when entering the production facility
