Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Longmont, CO (On-Site)
Salary: $109,800-164,600 annually DOE

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced mid-level Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, development, and production of precision shutter systems for lasers. This role is ideal for a self-driven engineer who thrives in a small team environment and has a stronger background in electrical engineering with solid mechanical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support electromechanical systems including motors, sensors, actuators, motion systems, and control 
• Design and support electromechanical systems (motors, sensors, actuators, controls)
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD models (SolidWorks)
• Support full product lifecycle: design, prototype, test, validate, and production
• Troubleshoot systems and perform structured root cause analysis
• Develop and execute test/validation plans for precision systems
• Collaborate closely with a small team of engineers and technicians

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field
• 2–6 years of hands-on engineering experience
• Strong electrical focus (65–75%) with approximately (25-35%) working mechanical knowledge
• Experience with schematics, PCB design, and test validation
• Familiarity with LabVIEW and SolidWorks
• Strong troubleshooting and testing with a logical, methodical approach, root cause analysis
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Comfortable supporting products used in the defense industry
• Experience in reading, maintaining, and reviewing electrical diagrams and schematics
• Strong preference for LabVIEW programming

• On-site in Longmont, CO (lab, cleanroom, and manufacturing environments)
