Marina Attendant

GENERAL:
The Marina Attendant is responsible for a number of duties around the guest marina. In general, the Marina Attendant will perform the day-to-day functions of the guest moorage office and fuel dock. Taking reservations, assisting boaters with docking, dispensing fuel, and cleaning are just a few of the tasks performed by this position.
The Marina Attendant is a customer-related position. The ability to maintain a pleasant, courteous disposition and a neat, well-groomed appearance is required for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Current Washington State Drivers license
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Computer skills may including, but not limited to, the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
REQUIRED PHYSICAL:
- Sitting for short periods.
- Walking and standing for long periods.
- Lifting items up to 60 pounds.
- Repetitive hand motions such as typing, writing and filing.
- This is an outdoor position on floating docks and piers.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist boaters with docking their vessels upon arrival to the guest marina.
- Answer telephones and greet incoming guests.
- Maintain accurate guest moorage and fuel dock records and receipts.
- Reconcile the change fund daily.
- Collect guest moorage fees.
- Make change and utilize credit card processing equipment
- Dispense fuel and sell fuel additive products
- Maintain accurate inventory records of fuel dock products
- Maintain cleanliness of the guest moorage docks, restrooms, showers, laundry and office spaces.
- Beautification of Port properties.
- Assist Guest Services Coordinator with guest reservations
- Be familiar with, and in compliance with, the Port’s Fuel Dock Procedures and Guidelines.
- Be familiar with the Port’s Emergency Response Plan, and the Emergency Response Team contact list.
- Be familiar with the deployment of fuel spill containment materials.
- Be familiar with, and in compliance with, the Port’s Accident Prevention Program.
- Perform other duties as specified by Port regulation, the Guest Services Coordinator or the Executive Director.
The Marina Attendant shall demonstrate the ability to efficiently operate a variety of computer programs and functions, so as to record all of the aforementioned items in an orderly and accurate pre-arranged format. Training is provided. This employee must be capable of performing these duties with no more than normal supervision. This employee will also adhere to and comply with the rules, regulations and requirements stated in the general description.
Schedule:
This may be a temporary, seasonal position.
Weekends are required, and summer holidays are open and expected.
Normal work schedule is 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Fridays, Saturdays, Sunday and Monday (32 hours).
Shift and days worked may vary depending on Port needs & events. Working holiday events: Memorial Day (5/25), Juneteenth (6/18), 4th of July (7/4) and Labor Day (9/7)
(8 hour work day with a 1/2 hour lunch break)
Pay: $18.00 per hour
