Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $42.00 – $47.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist a local company in Winona, MN for a temporary special project. This role is expected to last approximately six months, with potential for long-term placement. The ideal candidate will bring strong cost accounting experience, particularly within manufacturing or distribution environments, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage month-end close processes
• Perform and oversee cost accounting functions
• Evaluate, review, and approve all invoices
• Maintain and update systems related to month-end reporting and corrections
• Document accounting processes and support transition readiness
• Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
• Support administrative and communication needs during critical accounting periods

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience
• At least 3 years of accounting management experience
• Strong background in cost accounting (manufacturing or distribution preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Navision and AS400
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

• Proficiency with standard office equipment (computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, printers, etc.)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
