Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a respected, locally owned eye care office in Greenwood, IN to hire an Optician/Stylist.

Job Summary

The Optician/Stylist is responsible for merchandising, eyewear sales, and providing high-quality optical services to patients. This role focuses on product knowledge, frame and lens selection, order accuracy, and creating an inspiring, patient-centered experience. The Optician/Stylist works closely with patients to understand their needs and supports the Optical Manager in maintaining an efficient, well-organized optical department.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in identifying their eyewear needs and educate them on frame and lens options that best meet those needs.
• Complete all frame and lens orders and submit them to the appropriate lab the same day as the transaction.
• Maintain the retail floor to align with VisionQuest Eyecare merchandising standards.
• Use a lensometer to read and verify spectacle lens prescriptions.
• Perform frame adjustments to ensure proper fit and patient satisfaction.
• Conduct optical frame inventory and maintain accurate records.
• File insurance claims the same day as the transaction to ensure timely processing and payment.
• Stay informed on current frame trends and advancements in spectacle lens technology.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service or retail sales role; optical experience preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and high accuracy with data entry.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills required.
• Punctual, dependable, and committed to high-quality patient care.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; 1-2 shifts per week will vary: 9:00am–6:30pm or 10:00am–7:00pm
