Manual Machinist / Toolmaker

Location: Mills River Area
Pay: $25 – $30 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

A manufacturing company in the Mills River area is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Toolmaker to join their production team. This position is responsible for operating manual machining equipment to produce precision parts while maintaining high quality and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders

• Assist with the setup, production use, and maintenance of die sets and associated tooling

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan machining operations

• Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

• Support additional shop tasks including fabrication, welding, brazing, heat treatment, or finishing when needed

• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards

• Collaborate with production leadership and team members to maintain workflow and meet deadlines

• Perform routine machine maintenance and follow established safety procedures

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders

• Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills

• Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances

• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and adjust processes as needed

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
$25 – $30 per hour depending on experience
