A leading Oʻahu‑based organization is seeking a CPA‑credentialed Assistant Controller with experience operating in a large‑scale financial environment (preferred: $1B, minimum: $500M). This role supports enterprise‑level accounting operations and provides leadership within a high‑performing finance team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; provide strong operational guidance and oversight.
• Own the daily accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of financial activities.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger; ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls.
• Oversee quarterly and monthly close processes, including journal entry reviews, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for audits, reviews, and tax filings.
• Develop, implement, and optimize SOPs to improve consistency and efficiency across accounting functions.

 

What You Bring

• CPA REQUIRED (active license).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership.
• Experience supporting an organization with at least $500M in revenue; $1B+ strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead closing processes in a complex, multi‑entity environment.
• Ability to partner effectively with executives, cross‑department stakeholders, and external auditors.
