Human Resource Generalist

Salary: up to $30/hr
Position Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to serve as the point of contact for employee-related needs while building and maintaining HR processes, training programs, and benefits administration. This role is highly visible across the organization and requires someone who can connect with shop-floor employees while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and consistency.
The HR Generalist will play a key role in employee training, benefits administration, recordkeeping, and day-to-day HR support, partnering closely with leadership and department managers.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: Up to $30/hour (based on experience) + Benefits + 401K + Vacation
Job Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with the company’s employee handbook
- Establish and manage an online training account and access training resources (support available)
- Develop and implement a structured training program to ensure all employees complete required online courses
- Maintain accurate employee training records
- Recommend minimum training hours per quarter and determine whether training should be combined with safety or conducted separately
Benefits & Compensation Administration
- Coordinate 401(k) and employee insurance enrollments, including future availability
- Serve as the primary resource for employee benefit options and enrollment questions
- Track insurance-related fees and due dates
- Track and manage hiring bonus eligibility and payouts
Employee Relations & HR Administration
- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related questions and needs
- Maintain accurate records of employee vacation and time-off usage
- Coordinate attendance point tracking in partnership with leadership
- Support employee discipline processes while maintaining department manager ownership
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all employee interactions
General HR Support
- Maintain organized HR documentation and records
- Conduct sensitive employee conversations in appropriate private settings (conference rooms or offices as needed)
- Support leadership with HR initiatives and ongoing process improvements
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Haves
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of personalities and roles
- Relatable and approachable with shop-floor employees while maintaining professional boundaries
- Ability to separate personal relationships from professional responsibilities
- Prior experience or education in Human Resources
Preferred
- HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience supporting training programs, benefits administration, or employee relations
- Comfortable working closely with accounting and operations teams
