Position Summary:
The Drafter II supports engineering and fabrication teams by producing accurate technical drawings and material lists for structural and mechanical components. This role converts engineering concepts, specifications, and layouts into detailed CAD drawings used for fabrication and construction. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and collaboration with engineers and designers to ensure project accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Create fabrication drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for platforms, structures, ductwork, pipe spools, and other components.

• Develop and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on engineering sketches, layouts, and specifications.

• Review project documents including proposals, structural details, vendor drawings, and calculations to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

• Work with engineers and designers to resolve design questions or inconsistencies.

• Apply drafting standards and basic calculations to support accurate designs.

• Maintain organized drawing files and revisions for multiple projects.

• Request clarification on unclear specifications to ensure accuracy.

• Assist with additional drafting or documentation tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Drafting, Design, or related field preferred

• 2–4 years of drafting experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environments

• Experience with CAD and solid modeling software

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints
