Monday-Friday - 7am-3pm/3pm- 11pm/11pm-7am- 

 Must be open to all 3 shifts

 

A packaging company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the proper operation, adjustment, and maintenance of equipment used to manufacture paper bags. This role supports the production line by troubleshooting machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Mechanic will service approximately 7–8 bag-making machines and perform additional duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Shift Lead. Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety is always the top priority and serve as a role model for safe work practices
• Service and maintain machines used in the production of paper bags
• Adjust and troubleshoot bag-making equipment to maintain safe and efficient operation
• Assist machine operations as needed to support the safe production of high-quality products
• Perform preventative maintenance including greasing, oiling, and inspecting machine components
• Ensure machines are operating efficiently and running at posted speeds
• Perform machine lubrication according to maintenance schedules
• Inspect equipment to ensure machines are in good operating condition and replace worn or defective parts as needed
• Assist with machine rebuilds and repairs when necessary
• Support production with roll changes and machine adjustments
• Provide direction and support to operators when machines are down or require troubleshooting
• Assist with training and instruction of new and current employees on equipment operation and safety
• Ensure finished products meet high standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisors or Shift Leads

Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:

• Previous Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on production machinery
• Ability to grease, oil, and maintain machine components
• Experience with machine adjustments and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout safety procedures
• Basic low-voltage electrical knowledge preferred
• Must have own maintenance tools
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel
