Job Summary
The Hospital Safety Officer is an unarmed civilian role focused on maintaining continuous observation, safety oversight, and environmental control for incarcerated individuals receiving medical care at Northside Gwinnett Hospital. This position supports a safe environment for hospital staff, patients, visitors, and the public while ensuring custody integrity and respectful treatment of individuals under medical supervision. Officers work in a high‑visibility setting that requires strong awareness, emotional maturity, discretion, and consistent adherence to policy. This is not a sworn position and does not include law enforcement authority.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visual observation of assigned inmate patients.
• Support custody integrity during medical procedures, room changes, and hospital movement.
• Report safety concerns, behavioral issues, or compliance risks immediately.

Skills

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in security, corrections, hospital security, military, or other high‑accountability safety roles.

Shift Coverage and Operational Readiness

• Maintain availability for rotating shifts including:
• 11 PM – 7 AM
• 7 AM – 3 PM
• 3 PM – 11 PM
