Tekla Drafter

Located in Round Rock, TX

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a leading structural steel and construction company in Hutto, TX to hire Tekla Steel Detailers. Both Junior and Senior-level positions are currently open.

We are seeking skilled drafters with experience in Tekla Structures for structural steel detailing. These roles involve creating accurate 3D models, shop drawings, and material lists to support fabrication and installation. Candidates will work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

 

Junior Drafter:

·         2+ years of experience using Tekla Structures

·         Assist with structural steel modeling, shop drawings, and material lists

·         Support senior drafters and project teams

·         Develop skills in structural steel detailing and fabrication processes

 

Senior Drafter:

·         10+ years of Tekla Structures experience in steel detailing

·         Produce detailed structural steel shop and erection drawings

·         Review drawings for accuracy and constructability

·         Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field/fabrication teams

·         Mentor junior drafters and assist with complex projects

 

Qualifications (Both Levels):

·         Experience using Tekla Structures for structural steel

·         Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Good communication and teamwork skills

·         Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes

 

Preferred:

·         Experience with miscellaneous metals (stairs, rails, architectural metals)

·         Familiarity with AISC standards

·         Prior experience in steel fabrication or construction
