Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite Monday–Thursday | Remote Fridays (Half Day)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 annually

Position Overview

An established manufacturing organization within the consumer-packaged goods industry is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role plays a critical part in sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and supporting manufacturing demand through data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Source materials through data-driven analysis within an MRP environment
Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and operational data
Negotiate pricing, specifications, and delivery timelines with suppliers
Track and monitor inventory levels to support production needs
Coordinate purchase orders, scheduling, delivery timelines, and payment terms
Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, lead times, quality, and inventory levels
Communicate with vendors regarding availability, pricing, and delivery schedules
Update systems with material, vendor, and cost information
Analyze spending categories and measure results against targeted procurement goals
Support cross-functional teams by providing data and insights for decision-making
Stay informed on market trends, material changes, and evolving business practices
Identify process improvements and recommend alternative solutions to management
Assist with expediting materials as needed to support manufacturing schedules

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (consumer packaged goods experience a plus)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and deadline management skills
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience is a plus

Work Environment & Schedule

Monday–Thursday: Onsite, in-office
Friday: Remote, half-day
Core hours will be determined by the hiring manager
Full-time schedule totaling 40 hours per week

Compensation & Employment Details

Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000, based on experience
Full Benefits package offered once probationary period is completed
