Architectural Drafter

Location: Ocala, FL (In-Office)
Pay: $25–$32 per hour (based on experience)(more pay possible upon salary review)

Reports To: Licensed Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an Architectural Draftsman with residential home drawing experience to join our in-office team. This role supports the architect through detailed drafting, design development, and project coordination from initial concepts through revisions and change orders.

This position uses AutoCAD Architecture and focuses primarily on residential projects, with additional exposure to block, metal, and commercial buildings. An architectural degree or license is not required for this role, but is considered a plus.

A compensation review will occur upon completion of an initial evaluation period, with strong potential for pay growth over time based on performance and contribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed residential construction drawings using AutoCAD Architecture
• Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details
• Revise drawings to incorporate design changes, redlines, and client requests
• Assist with full project lifecycle support, from initial drafting through change orders
• Coordinate drawings to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and constructability
• Communicate effectively with team members, consultants, and clients as needed
• Maintain organized project files and documentation
• Support additional drafting needs for block, metal, and commercial buildings when applicable
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, small-team environment

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience drafting residential home designs
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and take initiative as a self-starter
• Solid problem-solving and time-management skills
• Professional demeanor with strong people and customer service skills
• Comfortable working fully in-office in Ocala, FL

Preferred / Plus Qualifications

• Experience with block buildings, metal buildings, or commercial projects
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field
• Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure
• Familiarity with Florida residential building standards and codes
