Skilled Shop Tech I

 New Iberia, LA | Full-Time | Pay: $18-82-22.14

 

We are seeking a Skilled Shop Tech I to assist with the interior build-out of blast-resistant and industrial buildings. You will work in various stages of production including sandblasting, insulation, painting, framing, flooring, interior finishes, and window/door installation.

 

Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints and construct interior finishes using hand and power tools

• Produce high-quality work in accordance with industry standards

• Cross-train in multiple construction skill sets

• Train and mentor junior personnel

• Inspect work, machines, and equipment to ensure proper performance

• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work environment

 

Requirements:

• 6+ months construction related experience (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC)

• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic arithmetic

• Experience using hand and power tools

• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

• Works well as part of a team

• Basic computer skills

 

Preferred:

• 5+ years construction experience

• Ability to pass respirator fit test

• Comfortable performing heavy work and physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and kneeling

• Manual dexterity and good balance

• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions
