Machine Operator

Located in Somerville, MA

Our client, a manufacturing company in Somerville, is seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. This position involves operating a punch press machine to produce metal parts according to specifications. While prior punch press experience is helpful, the client is open to candidates who are mechanically inclined, hardworking, and eager to learn.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:50 PM / Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Pay Rate: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Operate punch press machinery to produce parts according to job specifications

• Load and position materials into the machine and remove finished parts

• Perform basic quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications

• Read and follow work orders, instructions, and production schedules

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Assist with machine setup and adjustments as needed

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment preferred

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes

• Prior machinist or metal fabrication experience is a plus, but not required

• Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring tools is helpful

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed
