Body Shop Technician / Truck Body Repair Specialist – Now Hiring

We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Technician to join our commercial truck repair team. This role is responsible for fiberglass fabrication, structural repairs, frame alignment, welding, and general truck body repair in accordance with manufacturer specifications and shop quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fiberglass fabrication and repair, including soaking fiberglass matting, applying resin mixtures, and building layered matting to required thickness
• File, grind, sand, and smooth repaired surfaces using hand tools and power tools
• Fit, align, and weld replacement parts using welding equipment, wrenches, and alignment tools
• Grind and finish welds to ensure smooth, high‑quality surfaces
• Inspect repaired vehicles for dimensional accuracy, alignment, and safe handling; conduct road tests as needed
• Secure frames and vehicle sections to frame alignment machines using chains or clamps; apply hydraulic pressure to straighten damaged components
• Remove damaged sections with cutting tools, air grinders, and mechanical tools, then install replacement parts using mechanical fasteners or welding
• Mix polyester resins and hardeners according to repair specifications
• Repair dents, pits, and surface imperfections using pick hammers, punches, plastic filler, or solder
• Restore plastic panels using heat‑based repair methods, including hot air welding guns and hot‑water immersion
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in accordance with shop safety guidelines
• Perform additional repair and shop support tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in truck body repair or collision repair
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Demonstrated skill in fiberglass repair and experience with aluminum welding
• Must supply personal tools required for daily job duties
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, repair procedures, and safety guidelines
• Strong physical ability to handle tools, materials, and repair work
