Purchaser

We are seeking an experienced Purchaser in Broussard, LA. The ideal candidate must have experience working with structural steel purchasing and be able to manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and material deliveries efficiently.

 

Duties:

• Source quotes and purchase materials based on company requisitions

• Create and manage purchase orders within the financial system

• Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards

• Track orders, follow up on backorders, and confirm timely deliveries

• Verify received materials against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers

• Coordinate service calls for office/shop repairs and maintain supply inventory

• Assist with shipping/receiving issues and month-end purchasing processes

 

Requirements:

• Experience purchasing structural steel materials required

• 1–2 years of purchasing or procurement experience

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders

• Ability to work in a team environment and handle confidential information

 

Schedule:

• Full-time position

 

Pay:

• $40,000–$50,000 per year, depending on experience
