1st shift Packaging Line Operator 7 am - 3pm

Position Summary:

The Packaging Line Operator is responsible for operating machinery that packages different types of chemical products into various containers, while also ensuring the quality and conformity of packaged products according to defined standards

 

Essential Functions:

A qualified individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Keep machine stocked with the chemical products and packaging materials used to produce final packaged products
• Adjust machine components and regulate machine flow or speed as necessary, based on the type of products being packaged
• Stop or reset machine when malfunctions occur, fix issues that arise and inform supervisor of issues requiring additional attention
• Inspect and remove non-conforming products and packaging material from the machine
• Remove finished packaged products from the machine and prepare them for shipping by boxing, labeling, palletizing, and wrapping the items
• Maintain a clean and safe working area
• Utilize different types of equipment, such as forklift, electric pallet jack, drum cart, mixing tanks, etc
• Lift and move a variety of containers of materials that are used in the packaging process
• Work closely with other departments, such as warehouse and production
• May perform other duties, as assigned

 

Position Requirements: 

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Exhibit an internal drive for excellence, including time-management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and a professional positive attitude
• Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate concepts and the courage to ask compelling and clarifying questions to ensure accuracy and understanding

 

Physical Requirements: 

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and often moving back/forth between different machines on the line
• Regularly required to lift objects up to 50 pounds, and move heavier objects using equipment
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
• Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away

 

Work Environment:

• Regularly in a production and warehouse environment
• Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and equipment, as well as working with hazardous chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, and/or humid conditions
