Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Chemical Manager I to oversee chemical treatment and pest control operations across campus grounds and facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining healthy landscapes, controlling weeds and insects, and supporting the overall upkeep of campus environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Chemically treat weeds in turf areas, landscape beds, and around trees.

• Apply fertilizer to maintain the campus fertilization program.

• Perform chemical treatments for insects within campus buildings.

• Monitor and maintain pest control and landscape health across assigned areas.

• Order materials, chemicals, and supplies needed to complete daily tasks.

• Complete work orders and maintain accurate written documentation of treatments and activities.

• Remain on-call as needed to address urgent pest or chemical treatment needs.

• Repair and maintain equipment used for chemical application and grounds maintenance.

• Empty trash in assigned areas to help maintain a clean campus environment.

• Assist with recycling trees and plant material into mulch.

• Continue training and professional development to maintain high standards and certifications.

Qualifications:

• Required: Valid Structural Pest Control License.

• Knowledge of chemical applications, fertilizers, herbicides, and pest control methods.

• Ability to safely handle chemicals and follow safety protocols.

• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor and indoor work environments.

• Exposure to varying weather conditions.

• Must be able to lift equipment and materials as needed.
