The Scale Operator / Clerical Assistant is responsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound trucks, maintaining detailed records, processing tickets and invoices, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced industrial or agricultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate truck scale system to weigh incoming and outgoing loads

• Verify and record load weights, product type, and customer information

• Issue weight tickets, receipts, and bills of lading

• Enter data accurately into computer systems and maintain daily reports

• Answer phones and assist drivers, customers, and vendors

• Maintain filing systems and organized documentation

• Reconcile scale tickets with shipping and receiving records

• Assist with invoicing, accounts receivable, and payment processing

• Monitor yard activity and communicate with plant or warehouse personnel

• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Previous experience in clerical, office, warehouse, or scale operations preferred

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry systems)

• Excellent math and basic accounting skills

• Strong communication and customer service abilities

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
