Express is now hiring for a temporary HR Specialist for a municipal corporation located in Thurston County. This is a contract position due to last 6-9 months and will be in office at their location in Olympia, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p. Compensation for this position will be $33.40/hr. The ideal candidate will support our HR Analyst in various capacities, including onboarding, data entry, benefits support, and more. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in MS Excel, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate new employee onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records through regular data entry tasks.
Manage badge access for employees, ensuring secure and authorized entry.
Assist employees with benefits inquiries and processes, providing timely and accurate information.
Collect and organize necessary paperwork for various HR functions and ensure compliance with company policies.
Utilize MS Excel for data analysis, report generation, and tracking various HR metrics.
Generate and analyze reports, providing insights and recommendations based on data findings.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees and stakeholders.
Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth HR operations and address any interdepartmental issues.
Conduct research on policies and regulations related to various unions, ensuring compliance and staying updated on changes.
Work effectively within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Provide excellent customer service to employees, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in HR or related fields. ( 2+ years)
Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with report generation and data analysis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work well within a team and coordinate with different departments.
Experience in researching policies and compliance regulations, particularly related to unions.
Exceptional customer service skills.
