Position: Local CDL Driver (Containers & Flatbed Doubles)

Location: Aurora, Oregon

Schedule: Full-time, Start time is 5:30 AM, and you are home every night. Compensation: $26/hr. + Overtime (OT available and expected during busy months)

 

Our client is seeking a reliable, safety-focused CDL driver to join our team in Aurora, OR. This position offers steady year-round work, daily home time, and consistent overtime opportunities. The role includes seasonal variation between container work in the winter and flatbed doubles in the summer.

What You’ll Do
Winter Months

  • Operate manual-transmission container trucks

  • Complete 3–4 local loads per day

  • Drop empty containers and pick up loaded containers

  • Frequent trips in and out of the Portland ports

Summer Months

  • Operate flatbed doubles (more physical work)

  • Complete 10–12 loads per day

  • Work outdoors in hot weather

  • Climb onto flatbeds and secure loads with straps

Requirements

  • Valid CDL with:

    • TWIC Card

    • Airbrake Endorsement

    • Doubles/Triples Endorsement

  • Clean driving record (required for insurance)

  • Manual transmission experience

  • Must pass a drug screen and a background check

  • Ability to:

    • Work 1–2 hours of OT daily and more during busy months

    • Lift up to 50 lbs

    • Climb onto trailers and secure loads

    • Work in hot summer conditions

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and flexible with long days when needed

  • Preferred:

    • 3+ years of driving experience (insurance may approve less if all other requirements are met)

    • Experience delivering to ports

 Additional Notes

  • All deliveries are local

  • Home every night

  • Plenty of overtime available — if you want OT, you can have OT

  • We are looking for candidates with a reasonable commute; this is not a Portland commuter position
