About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Electrical Technician for a large, well‑established heavy industrial plant in the Alcoa area. This top employer is seeking a highly skilled electrical specialist with strong troubleshooting abilities, PLC experience, and the flexibility to work a rotating 12‑hour schedule.

Candidates must be able to train on day shift and later transition to night shift, working either a 2‑2‑3 schedule or a 5‑2 schedule depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC code (hands‑on, independent work).
• Support and lead electrical projects, including upgrades, installations, and improvements.
• Work with control systems including Rockwell, ControlLogix, or Siemens platforms.
• Maintain, repair, and optimize electrical systems throughout the facility.
• Balance workload between 60% troubleshooting and 40% project support/leadership.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Hands‑on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work independently and handle solo technical tasks.
• Experience with Rockwell/ControlLogix or Siemens controls (or closely related systems).
• Ability to work a 12‑hour alternating schedule and train on day shift.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Education

• High School Diploma required.

Pay

• $35–$43 per hour, depending on experience.
