Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Revenue Cycle Specialist to join a hospital revenue cycle team in Colfax, WA. This role supports the full financial lifecycle of patient services from registration through final payment ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

This position will begin with a high-impact project requiring strong investigative skills, high-volume account management experience, and extensive communication with insurance providers.

 

What you will do:

  • Audit and review past write-offs for accuracy and compliance

  • Investigate high-volume accounts and resolve discrepancies

  • Communicate with insurance companies for verification and resolution

  • Manage full-cycle hospital revenue processes including billing and collections

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations

  • Review and resolve claim edits, denials, and billing discrepancies

  • Submit claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid

  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Process payments, adjustments, and write-offs

  • Maintain accurate patient financial records in EMR/EHR systems

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and adherence to payer requirements

  • Collaborate with clinical, coding, and finance teams

  • Support revenue cycle reporting and performance improvement initiatives

Top Qualifications 

  • Medical Coding Certification OR 3–5 years of recent revenue cycle experience
  • Accounts receivable experience in healthcare setting
  • Claims processing, denial resolution, and cash posting experience

Required Experience

  • Hospital or healthcare accounts receivable experience

  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance reimbursement workflows

  • Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems

  • Strong attention to detail and investigative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage high-volume workload and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ICD-10, CPT, or HCPCS coding knowledge

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or similar certification

  • Hospital billing or patient financial services experience

  • Denial management and appeals experience
