Assistant Assembly Supervisor

Location: Tualatin

 Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5 AM-3:30 PM

 Pay: $30-$33/hr.

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to support our client’s manufacturing team. In this role, you will work closely with the department manager and production supervisor to coordinate daily activities, assign tasks, and help ensure the team meets production goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading others, improving processes, and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Assist in supervising production personnel to ensure procedures, quality standards, and expectations are met.
  • Provide guidance, support, and technical assistance to team members.
  • Help train new employees on equipment, processes, and safety protocols.

Production Coordination

  • Support daily scheduling, task assignments, and planning to meet production goals efficiently.
  • Coordinate workflow and equipment usage to optimize productivity.
  • Communicate operational status updates to managers and peers in a timely and accurate manner.

Quality & Safety

  • Assist in monitoring product quality, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure team members follow all safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Help identify and resolve production issues, collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support cost‑control efforts by optimizing resources and minimizing production waste.

Inventory & Resource Management

  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels to ensure materials are available for smooth operations.
  • Support efforts to maintain accurate counts and proper material flow.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and production schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to company values, safety standards, and quality expectations.

Education & Experience

  • Familiarity with company work rules, safety policies, and drug/alcohol guidelines.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership or team-leader role is a plus.
