Legal Administrative Assistant--Hybrid Role
Located in Shelbyville, IN
Salary: $17+/hr. based on experience
Job Summary/Company Information:
- A law firm in Shelby County is looking to add a Paralegal to their team.
- Initially, this individual will be asked to handle a variety of administrative tasks including answering the phone, updating files, and assisting with other administrative projects as needed.
- Once trained, the paralegal will be responsible for a variety of duties including using critical thinking skills to judge how and when files move forward in the process.
- This firm handles a variety of cases with some very straightforward and some very complicated.
- The Paralegal will also be responsible for managing a large volume of work, which could involve any of the following: providing excellent customer service, assisting with collections, and walking individuals through the process.
Pay/Benefits:
- Without previous legal experience or legal degree, this role could be expected to pay $17-$20/hr
- Previous legal experience or possessing a legal degree will increase that wage range based on experience.

Schedule:
- This is a first-shift role with very little overtime. Typical hours are 8am-5pm.
- After several weeks of training, this role will move to a hybrid position.
Requirements:
- Previous Paralegal experience is strongly preferred, but 2+ years of administrative experience or with collections would be acceptable as well.
- The ideal candidate for the Paralegal role would possess a paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies.
- High levels of attention to detail and confidentiality is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
