A CNC Lathe Set‑Up Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC lathes, including tooling, offsets, and program adjustments
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T
• Perform first‑article inspections and verify part accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Monitor machine performance and make real‑time adjustments
• Troubleshoot tooling, quality, and dimensional issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines

Ideal Experience:

• 2–5+ years CNC lathe set‑up experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds/feeds, and tooling
• Experience with precision measuring instruments

Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
