PCB Quality Inspector

 

Position: PCB Quality Inspector
Pay Rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Schedule: Full-Time (Schedule to be confirmed)

Position Summary

The PCB Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards and customer specifications. This role ensures workmanship quality, identifies defects, and supports overall product quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of PCB assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards (Class 1, 2, or 3 as required)

  • Inspect solder joints, component placement, polarity, cleanliness, and workmanship

  • Use microscopes and magnification tools to inspect SMT and fine-pitch components

  • Document inspection results in quality systems or ERP software

  • Identify and report defects such as solder bridges, insufficient solder, lifted pads, tombstoning, and misaligned components

  • Segregate nonconforming material and initiate NCRs as required

  • Verify rework and repair meet IPC standards prior to release

  • Review assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions

  • Maintain traceability and quality documentation

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions

  • Follow ESD and safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • IPC-A-610 Certification (CIS required; CSE preferred)

  • 1–3 years of PCB assembly inspection experience

  • Strong knowledge of SMT and through-hole assembly processes

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • J-STD-001 Certification

  • Experience inspecting Class 3 assemblies

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing

  • Knowledge of AOI or X-ray inspection

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
