Production Assembly Technician / Manufacturing Assembler

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Production Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for supporting production and delivery schedules by assembling retarders (in‑track braking systems) and service parts in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

This is a hands‑on manufacturing and mechanical assembly position that requires standing, moving between workstations, and repetitive lifting throughout the workday. Candidates who enjoy working with tools, following detailed instructions, and being part of a team will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble subassemblies and final assemblies according to work instructions and production schedules
• Build, test, and inspect completed assemblies to ensure accuracy and quality standards
• Operate a wide range of hand tools, including (but not limited to):
  • Cordless drills
  • Thread taps
  • Combination wrenches
  • Tape measures & combination squares
  • Pry bars
  • Pneumatic impact guns
  • Sledge hammers
• Operate shop equipment such as drill presses, hydraulic presses, and band saws
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all manufacturing safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
• Assist team members as needed to meet daily production goals
• Support continuous improvement and team collaboration on the production floor

Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physically demanding work
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16” increments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

• 1–2 years of assembly, manufacturing, or mechanical experience
• Sit‑down forklift experience
• Overhead crane and hoist experience
• Experience working in an industrial, production, or warehouse environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with co‑workers and management
• Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required
• Ability to multi‑task and adapt in a fast‑paced production setting
