Our local client is looking to hire a Labourer to add to their team.

 

Requirements & Duties of Labourer:

• Collects reusable items or waste materials such as lumber, paper, rags, fiber, yarn, rubber, beer and soft drink bottles, chemicals, and scrap metal, in scrap gondolas, barrels, or other containers.
• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles or places in bins or barrels according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking, or other characteristics
• Raking and loading metals into boxes and drums preparing materials for shipment.
• Operate balers and shears and other small tools as required.
• Driving forklifts and bobcats to transport materials to various staging areas.
• Maintains material inventory control.
• Assist with quality control.
• Performs light duty preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Weighs materials and containers and keeps records of total amount of waste collected.
• Dumps waste material, such as broke (wastepaper and pulp), into machine tank for reprocessing.
• Make minor repairs to scrap containers such as bumping out dents.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• General computer skills required.
• Must frequently lift and/or push and pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have forklift certification.

 

Compensation & Hours of Labourer:

• $23.34/hour
• Day shift 7:30am-4:30pm
