Salary: $95,000 - $145,000/Year
We are recruiting for an Instrumentation Engineers or Technologists to provide expert consultation in one or more areas related to the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of process instrumentation within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries.
This role involves working closely with clients to ensure designs are technically sound and meet project requirements. The position requires hands-on involvement in hardware design, system integration, application development, and testing.
Responsibilities:
- · Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices on projects
- · Support and provide input into proposal development
- · Collaborate with process teams to prepare instrument datasheets for pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters, as well as actuated valves, and select appropriate technologies for each application
- · Perform infrastructure design (wiring, cables, and associated hardware) for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Burner Management Systems (BMS), Fire and Gas Systems (FGS), general-purpose PLCs, and analyzer systems
- · Design pneumatic, hydraulic, and relay control systems for specific applications
- · Complete panel design for control and safety systems and develop material specifications to support procurement
- · Prepare scoping and commissioning documentation to support construction and commissioning activities
- · Support the development and execution of testing procedures for control systems
- · Review vendor offers and perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for equipment
- · Support functional safety studies, including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL verification for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- · Work with project managers and engineers to manage priorities and changes
- · Prepare technical and status reports
- · Identify scope changes, recommend solutions, and assist with estimating
Qualifications and Skills:
- · Engineering degree or technologist diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or a related discipline
- · Experience with programmable systems in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry (preferred)
- · TÜV Functional Safety Engineer (FSEng) certification and knowledge of functional safety (preferred)
- · Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- · Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- · Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships
- · Team-oriented with strong safety awareness and behaviors

- · 3–15 years of experience in the engineering design industry.
Wage: $95,000 - $145,000/Year
