Structural Welder / Fitter (FCAW & SMAW) – 2nd Shift

📍 Location: Waco, TX
💲 Pay: $20–$26/hour (DOE)
🕒 Shift: Monday – Thursday | 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
🔄 Position Type: Full-Time | Evaluation Hire

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Structural Welder/Fitter experienced in FCAW and SMAW welding processes. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, fit structural components, and produce high-quality welds that meet structural specifications.

Candidates must be proficient and confident in their skills — this position requires hands-on experience and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural welding using FCAW and SMAW processes
Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings accurately
Align, fit, and assemble structural components to specification
Use fitting tools including jacks, wedges, drift pins, turnbuckles, pry bars, and hammers
Inspect welds for quality and structural integrity
Maintain safe work practices and follow shop safety procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

✔ Minimum 1–2 years structural welding experience
✔ Proficiency in FCAW & SMAW welding processes
✔ Ability to read and interpret blueprints independently
✔ Experience fitting structural steel components
✔ Strong understanding of welding safety and quality standards
✔ Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Language: Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome; however, the ability to understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and blueprints is required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and maneuver steel components
Standing, bending, and working in a fabrication environment
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop
