Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Defense, Aerospace, and Government markets. This leadership role focuses on developing new business, expanding existing accounts, conducting market research, and delivering strategic solutions to clients. The ideal candidate will have a “hands-on” approach, building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams while identifying new opportunities for growth. #2931PR
$85,000–$95,000 pay range (depending on experience) PLUS Bonuses & Commissions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Expand business with new and existing customers by developing growth strategies, identifying target accounts, and delivering compelling proposals.
Continuously maintain and grow knowledge of the industry, market trends, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
Collaborate proactively with engineering, operations, and senior staff to implement successful business plans.
Maintain ownership of customer projects, including contract review, pricing analysis, and project negotiations.
Ensure compliance with all applicable quality certifications and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, ITAR, etc.).
Travel as needed to customer sites, trade shows, and suppliers to develop and maintain strong business relationships.
Support marketing efforts, including developing collateral materials, internet support, and sales campaigns.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Technical or industrial background preferred, with 5+ years of industrial sales or marketing experience.
Knowledge of precision engineered or machined components is a plus.
Experience in DoD, Aerospace, or Military markets preferred.
Strong computer, analytical, and proposal-writing skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with professionalism, self-confidence, and the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
Polished written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing proposals, client presentations, and white papers.
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively and move about freely in a plant environment.
Travel as required.
