Residential Advisor

Full-Time | All Shifts | Express Employment Professionals – Edmond

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a respected residential training and development program in Edmond to hire a Residential Advisor. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting youth, maintaining a safe and structured living environment, and contributing to a mission-driven organization.

About the Role

The Residential Advisor plays a key part in ensuring an orderly, safe, and positive dormitory environment. This position provides daily supervision, guidance, and support to students while helping maintain clean, secure living conditions. This is a 24/7 facility, so candidates must be available for any shift, including nights and weekends.

Pay: $18/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, orderly dormitory conditions; supervise cleanup and submit repair requests “Ensures orderly, clean living conditions by scheduling and supervising clean up…”

• Supervise students in the dorms, cafeteria, laundry, recreation, and during on/off‑site activities

• Build positive, professional relationships with students and help them work toward personal goals

• Identify and assist students with special concerns; conduct dorm meetings

• Maintain communication with counselors, instructors, and staff

• Ensure safety and security through routine checks, monitoring behavior, and enforcing rules “Maintains an environment wherein students and staff feel safe and secure.”

• Maintain accurate logbooks, case notes, and documentation

• Support student leaders and participate in intramural and evening programs

• Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and DOL guidelines

• Participate in required staff training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth or related experience

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries

• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, internet, Adobe Acrobat)

• Strong conflict resolution skills and experience

• Knowledge of residential living or dormitory procedures preferred

• Valid state driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, reach, talk, and listen regularly

• Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs

• Must be comfortable working in a moderately noisy environment
