Senior HR Generalist | $85,000–$95,000 DOE | Onsite (Lewiston or Pullman)

 

Location: Lewiston, ID or Pullman, WA (Onsite  not remote)
Salary: $85,000-$95,000 DOE
Travel: Up to one week per month (seasonal travel across WA, MT, and ID)

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to play a key role in driving people strategies that support operational success in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment. This position manages a full spectrum of HR responsibilities, including employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, training, and organizational development.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on strategic partner with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and deep knowledge of HR best practices within industrial, transportation, or operational environments.

This is an onsite role requiring regular travel and the ability to manage high-volume operational recruiting demands.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience as a Senior HR Generalist
  • Proven ability to lead complex employee and manager relations, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and conflict resolution
  • Experience managing high-volume full-cycle recruitment for operational teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately one week per month (seasonal)
  • Ability to work onsite in Lewiston or Pullman (not remote)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Lead complex employee relations initiatives, including investigations, coaching, corrective actions, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and employment practices
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements
  • Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for operational roles, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding
  • Partner with operational leadership to meet workforce demands and hiring priorities
  • Ensure a positive and efficient candidate and new hire experience
  • HR Operations & Strategy
  • Support performance management processes and organizational development initiatives
  • Deliver HR guidance and coaching to managers and leadership
  • Assist with training programs, workforce planning, and HR process improvements
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion

 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • HR experience within transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust across all levels of an organization
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Preferred Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
