A busy garden center in the Milwaukee area is seeking Seasonal Live Goods Help to support the care and maintenance of outdoor plants during the peak spring and summer seasons. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and engaging with customers in a friendly, plant‑focused environment.

Job Summary

The Seasonal Live Goods team member is responsible for maintaining the health, appearance, and presentation of outdoor plants, assisting customers with plant‑related questions, and ensuring a clean, organized garden center. This position works primarily outside in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Water, care for, and maintain the health of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and other outdoor plants
• Unload and stock shipments of live goods; rotate and organize plant displays
• Assist customers by answering basic plant questions and helping them locate products
• Monitor plant quality and remove damaged, declining, or unsellable items
• Maintain clean, safe, and visually appealing outdoor plant areas
• Keep signage, displays, and product groupings accurate and up to date
• Support seasonal department tasks such as merchandising, restocking, and general maintenance
• Work outdoors in all weather (rain or shine)

Qualifications

• Interest in plants, gardening, or horticulture (experience preferred but not required)
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and move plant trays and materials (up to 40–50 lbs.)
• Reliable, positive, team‑focused work ethic
• Ability to multitask and follow instructions in a fast‑paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Standing, bending, lifting, and walking for most of the shift
• Comfortable working in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions
• Ability to safely lift and move live goods and plant materials
