Position Summary
The Fluidcare Technician performs first-level, on-site technical support, data recording, and assessment within the manufacturing environment. This role follows established procedures and works under readily available supervision or management to ensure a high standard of Fluidcare support, safety, and customer service.
Job Accountabilities
- Participate in the addition of chemicals including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, and cleaners as directed by site staff.
- Assist with the maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, pumps, air handling systems, and other fluid-related equipment.
- Support sump changes, tank cleaning, and general system cleaning to keep fluids within required operating limits.
- Measure, monitor, and record coolant parameters; maintain lubrication schedules to ensure optimal fluid conditions.
- Identify and communicate changes in coolant parameters directly with customers and enter results into appropriate databases.
- Prepare detailed and accurate shift reports.
- Assist with routine maintenance on customer equipment and fluid systems, including product additions and filter changes.
- Assist with proper disposal of contaminated materials (e.g., pails, gloves, samples) in accordance with waste management and recycling guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment such as scales, pH meters, glassware, and incubators in accordance with site control plans.
- Maintain tools and utility equipment (pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Where applicable, assist with metallurgical preparation and testing, including cutting, mounting, surface etching, hardness testing, and microstructure analysis.
- Support general site organization initiatives including inventory management, storage room organization, and labeling.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimal to no prior manufacturing experience required
- May be required to obtain certifications or licenses as needed
Skills & Competencies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate reading comprehension skills
- Ability to present information clearly and accurately
- Basic mathematical skills
- Proficient in data entry and reporting using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Basic working knowledge of internet software, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and project tracking tools
Physical Requirements
The employee may be required to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand for extended periods and walk long distances daily
- Use hands to handle, finger, and reach with arms
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Work in small spaces and at elevated heights
- Talk and hear in an industrial environment
