They are seeking a highly trustworthy, mechanically inclined individual who is interested in building a long-term career in locksmithing and security services through an extensive paid training program.
Position Summary
This is an entry-level career opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to be trained from the ground up in locksmithing and security technology. The role combines online learning, hands-on field training, and formal locksmith certification.
The training program lasts approximately 4-6 months, with advancement into a commission-based Security Technician role upon completion. This position is ideal for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn a skilled trade with long-term earning potential.
Training Program Details
- Training duration: Approximately 4-6 months
- Training format includes:
- In-office online coursework
- On-the-job field training
- 6-8 day offsite locksmith certification program
Initial Training (First 2 Weeks):
- Automobile lockouts
- Home lockouts
Evaluation Period:
- Candidates are heavily evaluated during the first 1-2 weeks to determine long-term fit
Training will cover:
- Lock installation and removal
- Access control systems
- Security equipment installation
- Camera and monitoring systems
- Proper tool usage and mechanical skill development
Pay & Compensation
During Training:
- $16 per hour
- Opportunity to earn commission on after-hours calls
- Gas allowance per call (approximately $5–$10 per call)
- Training contract: 520 training hours
Post-Training (Commission-Based Role):
- 100% commission pay structure
- Expected earnings:
- Year 1: $40,000–$48,000
- Year 2: $50,000–$60,000
- Top performers can earn up to $100,000 annually
Work Schedule
- Typical job calls between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- On-call rotation includes:
- 2–3 nights per week until approximately 11:30 PM–12:00 AM
- Rotating weekends
- Regular day off: Monday
Once fully trained, technicians:
- Do not report to the office daily
- Are dispatched directly to job sites
- Work independently and manage their own schedules
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle and residential lockouts
- Install and remove locks and security hardware
- Assist with installation of:
- Security systems
- Cameras
- Access control systems
- Follow all security procedures and protocols
- Maintain professionalism with customers
- Protect confidential client information
Required Skills & Traits
- Mechanically inclined
- Comfortable using basic tools (tape measure, hand tools, drills)
- Able to follow instructions and learn quickly
- Professional, clean-cut appearance and strong communication skills
- Highly trustworthy and dependable
- Self-motivated and organized
- Strong interest in building a long-term career, not just earning a paycheck
Background & Legal Requirements
- Must pass FBI fingerprint background check for Alabama licensing
- Clean driving record (no more than one speeding ticket in the last 3 years)
- Eligible for State of Alabama licensing
- NDA required before interview due to the confidential nature of the work
- Training may begin while state background check is processing (2-4 weeks), provided initial background check is clean
