Under the direction of the supervisor or his appointed lead person, operates an 18-ton forklift to load and unload steel products.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Understands and performs all functions associated with the operation of the forklift. Performs daily inspection and reports any repairs needed to maintenance.

Uses and understands measuring instruments…tape measure and micrometer.

Receives and checks material for grade, thickness, and size. Color codes material per procedure.

 

Requirements:

 

1 year prior experience operating the forklift.

Must be able to read, write, have knowledge of basic mathematics and read a tape measure.

In-house forklift certification required once brought onboard

Must be able to work any shift and overtime when needed.

Knowledge of steel is a plus but not necessary.
