CDL Driver — Job Duties / Resume Example

• Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations

• Transport goods, materials, or equipment to assigned locations on schedule

• Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and safety

• Load, secure, and unload cargo in a safe and efficient manner

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and inspections

• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients regarding routes, delivery times, and issues

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly

• Follow all safety protocols and company policies while on the road and at delivery sites

• Plan routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines and minimize fuel usage

• Handle paperwork for shipments, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection forms

• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and resolve minor issues as needed

• Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the last 5 years
