Optometric Tech

Located in Waunakee, WI

Salary: $18 - $20/hr.

We are seeking candidates for a Optometric Tech role with an ophthalmology client in the Waunakee area. This is an evaluation to hire position. Willing to train, no experience in the industry required! This position will float between the front desk and pre-testing patients before they see the doctor.

 

**Must be willing to work some weekends and one late night weekday

Clinical / Patient Testing Duties

• Perform pre-testing for patients before the doctor visit, including:

  • Collecting HPI (History of Present Illness)

  • Measuring eye pressure

  • Retinal testing

  • Corneal scans

• Ask patients about:

  • Changes in vision or eye health

  • Overall health updates

  • Contact lens and glasses usage

• Accurately enter patient information into our electronic health record system

Front Desk & Patient Support

• Greet patients and create a welcoming, positive experience

• Assist with check-in and check-out

• Answer phones and help with basic scheduling or questions

• Support daily clinic flow as needed

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Comfortable talking with patients and making them feel at ease

• Detail-oriented and able to follow clinical procedures

• Ability to multitask and adapt throughout the day

• Medical or healthcare background is a plus, but not required

• Willingness to learn and work as part of a small team

• Ability to learn computer systems

 

Pay: $17-$20/hr, depending on experience

 

Hours: 

• Mon, Tues, Fri: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Wednesday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Thursday: 11am - 7:30pm (1-2 late stays month)
• Saturday: 8am - noon (1-2 a month)
