Outside Sales Representative – Construction

A well-established, equipment company is expanding its sales team in the Des Moines market. This outside sales role is focused on building long-term customer relationships, identifying equipment solutions, and supporting contractors and industrial customers across a defined territory. This is a field-based role with strong internal support and growth potential. First year total compensation typically around $120,000.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, municipalities, and industrial clients
• Prospect new business while managing and growing existing accounts
• Take a consultative approach to understand jobsite needs and recommend equipment solutions
• Prepare quotes and support the sales process from initial conversation through close
• Partner with internal teams (service, parts, rentals) to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Track activity and opportunities using CRM tools
• Represent the company professionally at customer sites and in the field
  
  

What they’re looking for

• Outside sales experience; construction equipment, heavy equipment, or rental industry experience preferred
• Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a territory-based role
• Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with construction equipment is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
