Express Employment is hiring an experienced Automotive/Diesel Technician for a busy shop environment. We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on experience who can work independently without constant supervision. This role focuses on light- and medium-duty gasoline and diesel vehicles (pickup trucks), not semi trucks.

Pay: $15–$25 per hour, depending on experience

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines
• Perform engine diagnostics, fuel system repairs, and electrical troubleshooting
• Replace injectors on Dodge, Chevrolet, GMC, and Ford pickup trucks
• Perform oil changes, transmission flushes, valve cover gaskets, and high-pressure oil pump repairs
• Brake work including control arms, tie rods, wheel bearings, ball joints, and driveshafts
• Transmission and engine removal and installation
• Mount and balance tires
• Safely operate a 4-post vehicle lift and floor jacks
• Handle a wide range of general mechanical repairs as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive hands-on experience with gasoline and diesel motors
• Ability to work independently without micromanagement
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Welding experience is a plus, but not required
• Experience with semi trucks is not required and not the focus of this role

Required Hand Tools Include:

• Socket sets: 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive (metric and SAE, deep and shallow)
• Combination wrenches (ratcheting preferred)
• Screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead)
• Pliers: needle-nose, diagonal cutters, channel locks, locking pliers
• Hammers: dead-blow and ball-peen
• Hex and Torx keys
• Specialty tools: hook and pick set, breaker bar, magnetic pickup tool
• Torque wrench
• Oil filter wrench and drain pan
• Brake service tools (bleeder kit, caliper piston compressor)
• Cordless impact wrench (3/8" or 1/2")
• Creeper
• Air tools including compressor, air hammer, and die grinder
