• Prepare metal surfaces for paint application using air-powered sandblasting equipment, grinders, needle guns, and other powered and hand tools.
• Remove scale, paint, grease, tar, rust, dirt, and other contaminants from metal surfaces.
• Inspect items prior to painting to ensure welds meet quality standards.
• Remove weld spatter, excess weld material, sharp edges, burrs, and over-poured refractory using tools such as wire wheels, air chisels, electric grinders, and files.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain paint and sandblasting equipment using approved solvents and manufacturer-recommended methods.
• Operate and use related equipment and tools, including forklifts, hoists, slings, portable and bench grinders, hand tools, and tape measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Dependable, adaptable, and open to learning new processes and techniques.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating respectfully and professionally in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in parts, equipment, or production processes.
• Ability to follow instructions, training, and supervision to ensure quality workmanship and safety compliance.
• Commitment to using time efficiently and producing high-quality results.
