Salary: $27.00 per hour

Express seeks Milling & Fine Prep Operators to join a team that values precision, safety, and continuous learning. If you’re curious by nature and want to grow your skills with metals, this role is for you.

Compensation: $27.00 per hour - Up to $2,000 annual bonus potential

Shifts: Primarily 2nd & 3rd shift (9-hour shifts)

• $2/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​What You’ll Do: As a Milling & Fine Prep Operator, you’ll play a key role in preparing accurate, representative metal samples used in testing and production.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling, grinding, sieving, incineration, and furnace equipment
• Prepare and process metal samples for melting, testing, and shipment
• Identify and work with different types of metals and understand their properties
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance
• Safely handle materials using forklifts, stackers, or cranes (as trained)
• Accurately document material flow and process data
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
• Work collaboratively with lab, production, and maintenance teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with metals and an understanding of different metal types and their properties
• Inquisitive mindset with a strong desire and ability to learn
• Manufacturing, industrial, or production experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and in a physically demanding environment
• Safety-focused with the ability to follow detailed procedures
