Overview

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join a metal fabrication shop. This role involves operating a variety of manual and computerized machines to shape, bore, and modify steel parts according to precise specifications. If you have solid machine operation experience—especially in the metal or steel industry—and enjoy hands-on, detail-oriented work, this is a great long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual and computerized machinery, including:
  • CNC machines
  • Drill presses
  • Lathes
• Bore holes, shape steel rods, and shave materials to specified sizes
• Interpret and work from blueprints and engineering drawings
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials
• Lift materials up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Perform quality checks to ensure all parts meet required specifications
• Contribute to production workflow, meeting deadlines and quality standards

Requirements

• Prior machine operator experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Preferred background in the steel or metal fabrication industry
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Reliable work ethic and strong attention to detail
