Shift: A Shift 6-2.30 pm. M-F

Rate: $17 per hour.

Job Overview:  As a Janitor, you play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for employees, visitors, and customers within the organization. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas regularly.
• Wipe down and disinfect surfaces, door handles, and high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic environment.

Trash Removal:

• Empty and replace trash bags in waste receptacles.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areas.

Floor Care:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, and common areas.
• Clean and maintain carpets by vacuuming and using carpet cleaning equipment as needed.

Window and Glass Cleaning:

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Ensure a streak-free and polished appearance.

Dusting and Polishing:

• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Wipe down desks, chairs, and other office furniture.

Restocking Supplies:

• Monitor and replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Inform the appropriate personnel when supplies are running low.

Outdoor Maintenance:

• Sweep entryways and outdoor areas.
• Remove debris from sidewalks and parking areas.

Equipment Operation:

• Operate and maintain janitorial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Reporting Issues:

• Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate department.
• Notify supervisors of any health or safety hazards.

Adherence to Safety Guidelines:

• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in performing tasks.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
