Position Summary
The Compliance Specialist supports import and export operations by ensuring adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal compliance programs. This role partners with legal, logistics, and business teams to manage regulatory risk, support audits, and maintain accurate trade compliance records.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of trade compliance programs
• Conduct regulatory and legal research related to import, export, and customs compliance
• Assist with internal and external audits, investigations, and corrective action plans
• Draft, update, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and training materials
• Support Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and customs valuation processes
• Determine and document country of origin in accordance with U.S. and international regulations
• Ensure compliance with CBP, EAR, ITAR, and CTPAT requirements
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to resolve compliance issues
• Maintain accurate statutory import and export records and documentation
• Identify compliance risks, gaps, and exposure areas and support mitigation efforts
• Track remediation actions and support compliance metrics and reporting
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations while maintaining regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of compliance, legal, or international trade experience
• 5+ years of customs clearance experience, including HTS classification
• 5+ years of country of origin determination experience
• Experience with forced labor compliance requirements
• Experience with CTPAT
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate Excel and reporting skills
• Cross-border compliance experience
• Bilingual in English & Spanish
